Zero to One Book Review
As the title suggests Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future, is a book which goes into details how one can build up their startup.
This book is written by Peter Thiel who is also one of the founders of PayPal. This book segregates every business into two categories:
1) 0 to 1
2) 1 to n
The 0 to 1 businesses are those which never existed before, for example, Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook which started the whole social media market. The credit of social media goes to Mark Zuckerberg.
The 1 to n businesses are those which already exist in a certain manner, for example, creating Instagram took the world from 1 to n in terms of development in social media. This happened because Mark Zuckerberg has already created Facebook.
With this Thiel wants people to ask questions to create value from the most unexpected places. This book does keep technology at the core of development and takes a few examples from Silicon Valley to make you understand the successes and failures of entrepreneurs.
Why this book?
This book not only talks about building a startup, as the title suggests it also focuses on building up a better future. Through everything in this book Thiel tries to explain how startups and entrepreneur can be the key to a better and more advanced future.
This book instantly became an international bestseller. I believe that everyone should dive into this book to understand the value of startups and innovation. This book can also be considered as The Holy Bible for all the future entrepreneurs and innovators.
